20-02-2012Information Evening for Freelance Dance Artists at HJS
On Tuesday the 6th of March at 17:30 the Henny Jurriens Foundation will organzie an information meeting in English for freelance dance artists. In light of the new situation regarding funding in the Netherlands, we find it important to inform you of what the possibilities will be in the future. Although there will be serious cuts there will also be some opportunities, Representatives from 2 major funding bodies - Fonds Podiumkunsten and Amsterdam Fonds voor de Kunst will be present to explain things.

Auditions at HJS
Ajkun Ballet
On Sunday March 11 the Ajkun Ballet, based in New York, will be holding an audition at HJS for classically trained dancers. The company has an extensive performance schedule in the USA and other countries.

Gotra Ballet
Gotra Ballet from Heerlen led by Joost Vrouenraets will be holding an audition at HJS on the 15th of April - details will follow soon, but check: www.gotra.eu for info about the group
Kamea Dance Company
The Kamea Dance Company based in Beersheva, Israel
will hold an audition on the 22nd of April 2012.
They are looking for dancers with strong classical and contemporary technique. Details to be announced soon. For info about Kamea, see www.kameadance.com

Self-Empowerment for Dancers taught by Sabine Chaland
Self-Empowerment is a skill and a feeling that we need so much as dancers. In this workshop, we will explore the body, the mind, and the emotions in order to find a balance between the three of them. Through analyzing and working through our blockages we will learn to attain self-empowerment which will lead to great leaps ahead in our work.
Sabine was a soloist in the Dutch National Ballet and other companies and since retiring has built a practice focusing on Reflexology, Energy Healing, and Self-Empowerment training- see her website for more info
