Workshop information

In cooperation with Cindedans 2018, we present

Choreographer Andrea Boll created the film Downhill in collaboration with Steadicam operator/editor Peter Kadar and Steadicam expert Chris Fawcett, entirely on smartphones. These cameras are always at hand which allowed them to produce with a certain flexibility. Most importantly however, they turned out to be the perfect equipment for challenging terrain like the steep mountains of the Alps. Fawcett’s newest application for the smartphone – the smartphone stabiliser by Steadicam and the Steadicam Volt – proved to be very crucial tools.

In collaboration with the Henny Jurriëns Foundation, Cinedans organises a two day workshop for dancers with cinematographic ambition. Are you interested in combining your talent as a dance maker with the medium film and intrigued by dancefilm as an autonomous artistic form? Andrea Boll and her team will introduce you to the choreography of the camera: Where does the camera take over from the dancer and how do you create a dynamic film? A hands on workshop for practised as well as curious creators.

You will work with your own material. Participants bring their own camera, smartphone, iPad and editing software.

Although the confirmation on this website will ask you to send additional info like cv, dancevideo, this will not be mandatory for this workshop right now. Just register now, and you will receive info by Cinedans!!

CINEDANS 2018 will take place from 14 -18 March for more info see  HERE
